Our Story
*KUBO (pronounced 'koo-boh)
filipino word for hut.
KUBO sits on top of a small
hill in Raetihi (Rae meaning "headland" and tihi
means "summit"). Raetihi is a
historical
town in the
central
north island,
sandwiched between two magnificent national parks.
It's our happy place, a great
place to visit if you enjoy fresh air, star gazing, hunting,
fishing, bird watching, volcanoes, rivers, snow, sun,
art, history, mountain biking, tramping, walking, hiking and
relaxing.
Our little house offers
panoramic
views of rural New Zealand with Mount Ruapehu looming on
the horizon and the tip of Mount Ngauruhoe (Mount
Doom) beyond.
After
a long day, sit back, put your feet up and relax on
mountain time. As dusk settles enjoy the colourful twilight
hues while listening to different
bird
calls and
be
awed as thousands of stars come out at night.
